Are they getting a tour of Shanghai and Beijing? Different organizations market these programs in different ways. Due to the high cost of airfare and availability of seats, if you are not already a teacher living in China, you will not find gainful salary in any program and chances are very good that tours of Shanghai or Beijing are not provided. Why do some folks pay $2,800 while others have paid $1590 for the same program? Journeyeast offers deep discounted packages in January and February. Applying early helps us negotiate contracts with airlines for the busy season to keep costs low. Many camp participants take advantage of this opportunity and paid their program fee in January. Certified teachers receive discounts as well. Folks who applied in March through May pay the regular trip cost while applicants who were accepted in June are paying higher costs for market price of airfare and expedited processing fees.
Let's explore the concept of "value.." Looking across the internet you'll find all sorts of programs offering teaching opportunities in China. Some say they only charge $800 - $1000 for their program fee. Then after you've added up the additional cost of airfare (About $1700) and the cost of obtaining your visa ($230), then travel insurance, ($200) you find that the total cost to you is actually much more than you expected and they don't offer you a single tour!
